Family Engagement Worker
Here at YSGOL MAES HYFRYD, we have a strong support system for parents, carers and families. Our aim, as a team is to improve the link between home and school and to encourage families to become an active part of the school community.
Tanwen Messum- Johnon is the Family Engagement worker at Ysgol Maes Hyfryd. Her role is to support you, your family and your child to ensure that you are all getting the very best from our school community. Tanwen will work impartially and confidentially and can provide support, advice, information and a ‘listening ear’ if ever you have any concerns, issues, worries or feedback in relation to family life.
She is aware that throughout life things are not always easy and that at times we need somebody to turn to. Issues could relate to:
- Challenging behaviour inside or outside of school
- Welfare rights: Applications for Benefits
- Debt management
- Support with completing forms (D.L.A, P.I.P, etc)
- Literacy and Numeracy Courses
- Emotional well-being
- A healthy lifestyle
- Feeling isolated
- School Transport
- Referrals to outside support Agencies
If any of these issues are worrying you and you need somebody impartial to turn to, then please get in touch with Tanwen at school.
The Family Engagement Worker is available between 8:15 – 3:30pm Monday to Friday during term time.
