The internet is amazing. Pupils can play, learn, create and connect - opening up a whole world of exciting possibilities. But with the digital world changing all the time, how can you make sure your child’s staying safe?
Internet technologies and electronic communications provide children and young people with the opportunity to broaden their learning experience and develop creativity in and out of school. However, it is also important to consider the risks associated with how these technologies are used. Some of the risks are identified below.

The Internet is an open communications channel, available to all. Applications such as the Web, email, blogs and social networking all transmit information over the fibres of the Internet to many locations in the world at low cost. Anyone can send messages, discuss ideas and publish material with little restriction. These features of the Internet make it an invaluable resource used by millions of people every day.
